Christian Marriage
Retreats
There are several components to a successful retreat
The Location Of a
Christian Marriage Retreat:
The location is a major concern when planning
Christian Marriage Retreats or other retreats such as
a Christian singles retreat, or especially a
Christian family retreat.
• Find a location that is nearby. Folks get very little time
to spend away from home and work. They don’t want to spend most
of that precious time traveling to the site. Also take a couple
of colleagues to the location to check it out.
The
Cost:
The number one concern is always cost. It is important to
keep the costs down. A couple, or a family or a single person
will consider attending a retreat to repair or enhance their
spiritual life but only if they can afford it.
• To keep costs down find an all-inclusive retreat center.
One that will include all their meals, have an on-site
conference room, and provide recreational activities either
free on-site or close by. Again, it is best to go to the
retreat center or hotel you may be considering. You want
inexpensive but you also want your guests to have a great
experience!
• Schedule the retreat in the off season. You will find you
can save your clients a lot of money this way and hotels and
retreat centers will have great specials going on at that time
of year.
The Theme:
Get the attention of your perspective guests with
a thought provoking theme. “Three Days to a Better Marriage” or
“A Family that Plays Together, Stays Together.” Just a couple
of suggestions, not be the best necessarily, but check online
or talk to another church that has recently had a successful
Christian family retreat or Christian singles retreat for great
ideas.
Special Guest
Speaker:
Christian marriage retreats, or a Christian
singles retreat or a Christian family retreat will attract more
attendees with the lure of a well known guest speaker.
It would be ideal if you have someone local in your
community or neighboring town that you do not have to spend
money on to fly in.
Where do you find all of the above to put together the best
Christian marriage retreats?
• Ask a sister church for suggestions sites they have
used.
• Look online. The internet is an invaluable source of
locations and reviews. Most sites have a website
that is complete with photos of their accommodations and a list
of menu options.
• Don’t be afraid to ask about specials.
